2013 Technique Prize to Komatsu and Topcon

New technique moves the business forward and makes everyday life easier for operators and machine owners. The Maskinentreprenören Technique Prize is presented yearly to put focus on the importance of innovation and product development. The winner 2013 is Komatsu and Topcon for the intelligent machine control on dozers, which means that a large part of the work is done automatically.

“Because a dozer is a machine that takes time to master and many earthmoving companies have trouble recruiting new drivers, the timing seems right with a machine that can do most of the work automatically. It is also positive that there is no longer any need for masts or outer sensors on the machine. With their intelligent machine control Komatsu and Topcon shows the way towards a probable development of most earthmoving machines.”

The Technique Prize is given to the best product that has been presented in Maskinentreprenören magazine during the year. Beside the winners Komatsu and Topcon, we also award honourable mentions to the other five products that reached the final round:

Caterpillar: 336E LH hydraulic hybrid.
Hammerglass: Explosion proof windows.
Engcon: Quick coupler locking.
Indexator: Quick coupler locking.
